Choose HemingwayDesign To Work With You

What you get from the HemingwayDesign Design Team?

We firmly believe that great design comes from a desire to improve things that matter in life and HemingwayDesign’s stated philosophy is to improve things that matter in life.

This especially comes to the fore in our regeneration and housing projects. Have a look at our Boscombe sea front project and this blog is worth a read.

A truly multidisciplinary team with highly developed creative and organisational skills that encompass urban design, regeneration, building design, interiors, landscape, product, brand, graphic, marketing, fashion and service design.

All of these disciplines (and more) were required in the most complex and challenging of projects, Dreamland Margate and this blog is worth a read.

A team of proven visionaries and thought leaders.

Fit for purpose and great design results from research and developing a vision that the whole team and ultimate users subscribe to and believe in. Our successful and ongoing work with Unite Students, Warwick University and Portsmouth Guildhall is underpinned by developing detailed visions.

Unite

A team that is brave but understands how to balance risk.

The Staiths South Bank in Gateshead, it is clear that bravery and a can do attitude can turn a sows ear into a silk purse.

A highly motivated team that share their multidisciplinary learning's across all the projects that we are working on.

A well-funded design practice that never takes on a project for the fees but rather, takes on projects where we believe we can put our "design is about improving things in life"  philosophy into practice.

A team with a deeply embedded social conscience that passionately believes in and delivers on equality, diversity, affordability, accessibility, ethical sourcing , sustainability and importantly thrift.

And we demonstrate this in projects from our container café for Café Direct and our charity design work (Crisis, Greenpeace). To ethical sourcing (we try and make as many products as possible in the UK from the furniture at G Plan to the wall coverings at Graham and Brown, to our sustainable re purposing, rather than demolition of "tired and unloved" housing estates such as Hillington Square and Evenlode

Hillingdon Square

A team that enjoys co – design and engagement and understands that design is not a “closed shop” and that good ideas can come from everyone involved in an organisation and a project.

We urge you to read this and take a peek at the work we undertook for Transport for London

Transport for London Uniform

A hard working, responsive team, oozing with common sense that sets and adheres to critical paths.

A team that are team players and enjoy collaborating.

It’s teams that deliver great projects. Evenlode was a result of a coming together of a housing provider, Housing Solutions, a caring contractor in Mullaley, engaged residents and a hard working design team in Hunters and HemingwayDesign. We collaborate with brands such as G Plan and Royal Doulton and it is the coming together of design and sales and marketing teams and production departments that result in the long term success that we are all enjoying.

A well-travelled team that undertakes deep research and believes in constant learning.

A team that busts a gut to deliver.

A team that smiles and has fun and as a result builds long term relationships.

We count many of companies that we work with as friends. Some of our relationships, with the likes of Surfaceview and Graham and Brown are well into their second decade.

Partners that have design and entrepreneurial experience spanning four decades coupled with a new generation of partners who understand the desires and needs of “millennials”.

Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway have been designers and entrepreneurs for over 35 years, have built and sold brands, run retail chains. They have experience. Jack and Tilly Hemingway have been partners in HemingwayDesign since 2015 and bring a heady cocktail of fresh thinking and understanding of design that results from an upbringing steeped in travelling to design events, trade shows and study visits.

Significant proven success and dozens of highly acclaimed, award winning projects.
